Experience
Prior to opening Condon Construction, LLC, Mark founded Condon Brothers, Inc. in 1983 and five years later the firm had grown into a prominent and well respected West Coast rail contractor completing over 1000 rail-related projects during a 15-year period. Under Mark’s leadership and based upon the success of Condon Brothers, Inc., Mark became the Founding Company President and General Manager of Condon/Railworks which was formed in 1998 and taken public in 2000 as Railworks Track Systems, Inc. Subsequently, the firm became the largest track contractor in the United States. In 2003, Mark became Senior Construction Manager for Integrated Concepts & Research Corporation (ICRC) spearheading the 400+ million-dollar Port Expansion Project in Anchorage, Alaska among other projects.
Projects
Condon joined forces with Balfour Beatty Rail Inc. in 2004 as their Western United States Regional Manager. His regional division maintained the company’s top safety record and highest cost efficiency rating for the five consecutive years of his tenure with the company. As Vice President and Principal of R&R General Contractors, Inc., Mark spearheaded an extensive project under a strict and short timeline, severe weather conditions and stringent Alaska Corp of Engineers guidelines. The reconstruction of 21,000 track feet, including the construction of ten concrete panel road crossings and nine turn-outs, was completed according to client requirements and Corp of Engineers standards. He was also the team leader for the construction of a refueling facility for Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks, AK.

HWY 299 / CALTRANS: Alturas, CA
- Constructed 100’ concrete panel crossing and new signals
- Reconstructed 2,000 feet of track with CWR
- Job completed during a 48-hr shut down of Hwy 299
HWY 140: Lake County, OR
- Constructed 40’ concrete panel crossing
- Project completed in a 12-hr shut-down of Hwy 140
CORP OF ENGINEERS / PACIFIC RAILROAD: CA & OR
- Subcontracted to thermite weld newly laid ribbon rail for the CORP Railroad
- Completed 210 welds averaging eight welds per day with a 4-man crew.
PIER 3 : KODIAK, AK
- Welded 175# crane rail
- Adverse weather conditions and strict project schedule constraints
- Project required three separate mobilizations to complete the work
PORT OF MORROW, Boardman, OR.
- Construct and installed nine #9 turnouts
- Emergency response service for derailments
CF INDUSTRIES, Ritzville, WA
- Repair frozen joints and replace ties
- Annual track inspection and maintenance contract
EIELSON AFB, Fairbanks, AK.
- Reconstructed 21,000 track feet
- Rebuilt ten concrete panel road crossings
- Rebuilt nine turnouts per Corps of Engineer specs.
PORTLAND ZOO, Portland, OR.: Elephant Expansion Project
- Subcontractor of Lease Crutcher Lewis
- Removed 7,600 track feet
- Constructed 4,600 narrow-gauge track feet
- Constructed 1,200 track feet on new circular wooden trestle
- Installed five turnouts
LAKE RAILWAY, Burbank, WA.: Oregon Connect IV & V
- Installed 10,000 ties and seven turnouts
- Replaced 15,000 lineal feet of rail
- Constructed two Hwy crossings: Hwy 299 in Alturas, CA (Caltrans), and Hwy 140 in Lakeview OR, (ODOT)
- Constructed 1,200 track feet in Industrial Park
- Constructed 1,000 track feet at the Wye
- Constructed three #9 turnouts

KASHWITNA SIDING: Kashwitna, AK
